Crew Partner Terms
The terms that apply to independent painting and flooring crews who take work from Exodus Home.
The short version
- Crew partners are independent contractors, not employees.
- Insurance, licensing, and your own tools and transportation are required.
- Work is measured against Exodus Home standards, including cleanup and the final walk-through.
- You may not solicit Exodus Home customers directly.
Independent contractor relationship
Crew partners operate their own businesses and control how the work is performed within the specification. Nothing in this relationship creates employment, partnership, or agency, and crew partners are responsible for their own taxes, workers' compensation where required, and business filings.
Insurance and licensing
Before the first job, a crew partner provides a current certificate of general liability insurance, proof of workers' compensation coverage where required, valid vehicle insurance, and any registration or licensing required by the jurisdiction where the work occurs. Coverage must stay current for the duration of the relationship.
Workmanship standards
Work follows the scope, the manufacturer's application or installation instructions, and Exodus Home's standards, including protecting the home, moving eligible furniture where included in the scope, cleaning up at the end of each working day, and completing the walk-through.
Callbacks caused by workmanship are corrected by the crew partner who performed the work, at no charge to the homeowner.
Payment terms
Payment terms: payment is processed within 14 days of the customer's payment being collected and settled. Payment follows completion and acceptance of the job and submission of the required documentation, including completion photographs.
Non-solicitation
Crew partners do not solicit or perform painting or flooring work directly for an Exodus Home customer they were introduced to through Exodus Home, for 12 months after the last job for that customer.
Confidentiality
Customer information, pricing, and Exodus Home business information are confidential and are used only to perform the assigned work.
Safety
Crew partners follow applicable safety requirements, use appropriate protective equipment, keep work areas safe for the household, and stop work and notify Exodus Home when an unsafe or unexpected condition is found, including suspected asbestos-containing material.
Termination
Either party may end the relationship at any time on notice. Obligations for jobs in progress, warranty callbacks on completed work, confidentiality, and non-solicitation survive termination.
